Today, I help hospices, charities, and health and care partners build sustainable, community-rooted services for the future, work together at scale, and strengthen their collective case with commissioners.

Along the way, I have:

Supported a collaborative of four hospices in Surrey to map their services, evidence their collective impact, engage commissioners with one voice, and shape a forward-looking service development agenda at neighbourhood, place and county level.

Designed and implemented new palliative and end of life care models across England, including community virtual wards, virtual and face‑to‑face advance care planning, rapid response and companion services, enabling thousands more people each year to access support that didn’t previously exist.

Secured £3.5 million in new statutory funding by strengthening commissioning relationships, building trust with decision makers, and developing credible, evidence-led cases for investment.

Built integrated data and business intelligence that gave commissioners and providers a clearer picture of local need, demonstrated impact and informed better decisions.

Influenced national policy and local decision-making, from helping make the case for palliative and end of life care to become a statutory commissioning responsibility, to leading local campaigns with commissioners and stakeholders to close gaps in 24/7 community end of life support.

Planning for a sustainable future

The sector is stretched, and fundraising alone cannot close the funding gap. A core part of my work is helping organisations plan for long-term sustainability: evidencing their impact, positioning themselves in a changing commissioning landscape, developing community-based approaches together, and making a strong, collective case for fair access to palliative and end of life care in their communities.
