Why Work With Me?

My work is shaped by both professional experience and personal loss – including seeing, through my dad’s death in our local hospice and other family experiences, what good and poor end of life care can feel like.

I believe everyone has a right to a good death. That belief has guided the past decade of my career in palliative and end of life care across both the VCSE sector and the NHS – including leadership roles in a national end of life care charity and one of the largest NHS trusts in London – working with hospices, VCSE organisations, NHS partners and local communities on strategy, service development and system change.

Over that time, I have:

  • Designed and implemented new palliative and end of life care models in local areas across England – including community‑based ‘virtual wards’, virtual and face‑to‑face advance care planning, rapid response, and companions services – enabling thousands more people each year to access support that did not exist before.

  • Strengthened commissioning relationships and secured millions of pounds in statutory funding by building credible, evidence‑led cases for investment.

  • Developed and supported integrated data and business intelligence to improve understanding of local need, demonstrate impact and inform better decisions.

  • Used my experience to influence policy and local decision‑making – from lobbying for palliative and end of life care to be recognised as a statutory commissioning responsibility, to leading local campaigns with commissioners and stakeholders to close identified gaps in 24/7 end of life care support in the community.

The sector is stretched, and fundraising alone cannot close the gap. A core part of my work is helping organisations think clearly about sustainability: how they evidence impact, position themselves in a changing commissioning landscape, and make a strong, collective case for equitable access to palliative and end of life care in their communities.

If you are a leader in this space thinking about collaboration, strategy, community models or system partnerships – and you want a thought partner who understands both the system and the human reality – I’d be glad to talk.
